The New Burlington Church was Established in 1850. Originally a Methodist Episcopal congregation, they met in private homes for fellowship and worship. In 1856, as they were growing in numbers and needed more room, the New Burlington Presbyterian Church let the Methodist use their existing building for worship. Services were held at alternating times to accommodate both congregations. Soon, the Methodists were the only ones left. In 1872 a new building was built in our present location for $2,500.00. Some 40 years later, an addition was added to increase seating, nine stained glass windows were installed, and a church tower and belfry were added. In 1947 the basement was excavated with picks and shovels to increase its size. In the 1950's, indoor plumbing was added. The Community Room with classrooms and offices was the latest addition in 1997.
